Alaska Trip

Monday 24,2007

Home from a wonderful trip. It was a Good Sam Cruise with 200 members. They were from the USA and Canada. We arrived Sunday in Seattle took a shuttle to the cruise ship and got settled in.

Sunday night the ship cruised while we slept. Monday it's getting acquainted day, we spent the day at welcome table . It was fun meeting the members. We had a reception and a formal dinner.

Tuesday, we arrived in Ketchikan, shopping and tours all day. There were cute little shops, best sales last ship for the season so every store was trying to sell everything 50 -75% off what great deals for our members. I couldn't understand, there were so many diamond and precious gem jewelery stores. Plenty of Tee shirts, jackets and hats stores.

We started cruising again around 4pm. The dinner were 5 course meals and desserts were wonderful .

Wednesday, we cruised Tracy Arms, this was breath taking , between mountains with water coming over the edges, chunks of ice with shades of sky and baby blue and a glacier. We got closer then they have been able to get in the past. What a sight to see. I wish I could explain it better.

We arrived in Juneau, shopping. this was a cold and rainy day so some stayed on the ship.

Thursday, We entered Skagway, more shopping and tours.

Traveling ,Thursday night and Friday early morning, was rough. There was a big sea storm so the ship did a lot of rocking and many were ill Friday.

Friday, We were at sea all day, many activities were going on all day. We had a Good-by Cocktail party for our guests and there was another dress up dinner.

We traveled all Friday night but because of the storm we lost a lot of time so we arrived late Saturday in Vancover BC. Some went to shore for a short time but all tours that were planned were cancelled.

This cruise was like all cruises. So much food and lots of different entertainment. Young adults with so much talent, energy, dancing and singing. They did three different shows. Movies, comedian, every kind of talent you could think of was there.

Cruised, Saturday night and left the ship at 7:30 Sunday morning to get to airport and flight to Maine. OH Well, plane arrived late. So I arrived in Chicago at 7:30 just as my flight was leaving for Portland Maine. I had to stay over and took a flight out Monday morning at 9 and arrived in Portland 12:30.

Lots of E-mail and things to catch up on.

Wednesday off to Bangor

I will see friends I wasn't able to see on my last trip and say good by for the winter.

Thursday, Myrtle Beach South Carolina Samboree

Sunday or Monday I will head for the south. I will have a few stops along the way and plan to be at the South Carolina Samboree by Thursday.

Pray for my first long trip. Thanks to you all my very best friends
