Winterport to Randolph, Maine

Saturday, July 12,2008

HI, I arrived in Randolph, Gardiner area,Maine today. I left Winterport, Forrest Auto Body. I have been there for two weeks.

OK, Here's what happened. When I come back from the Quebec Samboree. I got a scrap on the drivers side. I entered the customs in Vermont. I was concerned with the slot I was to go through. There was a slight curve, not straight. I was too close to turn around and go through the bus slot. I wondered why there wasn't an RV/ trailer slot. I pulled to the right and sat there for awhile. I knew I had to proceed so I hugged the right side watching to come close but not hit my mirrors. As I drove slow I felt the coach hit or scrap.

When I go to the gate I said" I think I hit", he said yes . He asked where I was going and who else was in the coach. "I'm alone" He told me to go. I think he was afraid I would have a melt down. Must have thought "Get her out of here".

He didn't even ask about having fruit, which I ate so I would have to toss it out.
Kind of funny, that's what I thought about. You mean I didn't have to eat all the fruit. I could have saved some?

Tony & Teresa were in the coach ahead of me. He stopped to see if I was OK and to tape part of the trim that was hanging. I'm telling you the coach had red, yellow and white paint scrapes in different areas and the hinge holding the bay door on was damaged.

I stopped over night and started to wash and scrap the paint off. I didn't want my friends to see a beautiful coach look like that.

When I got to the RI Samboree, My Friends were there with support and help. I was early in the week and the parking crew wasn't too busy so they hung around to help me get set up. I opened a door to get the water hose and the door fell off. One of the guys on the parking crew said "I will go to work tomorrow, get some tools and get this fixed for you. New friends got a rubbing compound and we worked on the paint some more, with the paint off it didn't look too bad.

Coach looked so sad. The drivers bumper, the new white heater cover and now the scrapes.

My coach was parked on the corner, so I got a lot of hugs and encouragement.

The parking crew got so busy that Mike & Rick, very special friends who always seem to be around when I need help, started working on the coach. They straightened one of the parts and riveted the door back so it didn't look too bad and would get me to the body shop.

David, helped me with the computer. It seem like there is always something. I'm so blessed to have so many friends who loan their husband to help solve the challenges.

I thanked everyone for the prayers that have gotten me through the year. I said I thought some had stopped praying, because I had gotten two boo boos in the last month so I asked them for continued prayers.

Steve" Forrest Auto Body" grew up next door and has been in business for 25+ years. I knew I wanted him to take care of the coach. Big problem was finding the same hinge. Wrong ones were sent and then none could be found. Mike & Rick heard about it and had seen what I needed at a dealership in Mass. The pictures of the parts needed were E-Mailed. The response was they did not have what was needed.

Rudd, Steve's man improvised and got the doors on so I could come here this weekend.

My daughter and Husband are here from Illinois. We plan to visit my brothers and sister then spend a few days with Bob, my son's family.

I will stay a week here and then go back to Winterport, to get the rest of the job and painting done.

The last week end of July is the Bates' family reunion. It is farther up north in Patten Maine.
Well, I think I have you

I think I have gotten you up to date.

Thanks you so much for keeping in touch, checking up and praying for me.

Love & hugs Rosemary
