Orlando, Fl. to Danville IL. for Christmas

Monday, Dec. 22, 2008

You won't believe this adventure and after reading it you will know I'm loosing it and it's a good thing Al has come into my life. I'm glad he has a great sense of humor.

I left Sebring, visited my friends Martha & Phil. Phil is having knee surgery Monday, so wanted to stop by for a few minutes.

I went on to Karen's, to spend the night. She will be taking me to the airport early in the morning, Flight leaving 7:30 get there around 6. It's her birthday so we went to the "Celebration area" for dinner and watch the snow scene. It was fun and helped get us in the Christmas spirit. We went to bed early because we had to get up so early. Al was going to call at 5am to be sure we were up. Karen had a friend who was to call also. Her friend called at 3:30, don't know why so early. Well were weren't late. In fact we were really early.

You know, I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get a boarding pass. When we arrived at curb service, we got the luggage to check-in and I told the porter I couldn't get boarding pass. He started the process. I told Karen she could leave. He said "no!" Why? He said my flight was 7:30 that evening. I said "No who changed the flight?" . He showed me the boarding pass. I got out the first flight itinerary, I had received, I knew I was right. He looked at it and there was a small p after the time. Karen laughed and said, she "Would take me back to the farm" . He felt bad and tried to find another flight. No, none were available. He was so nice and tried so hard, Karen said "she doesn't know what she's doing, she getting married". We all laughed I hugged him for trying and said I would be back.

We drove back, to Karen's. She was going to work 10 -7. We needed to find me a ride. We walked down the street to her friends, Barbara & Jessie. Would you believe they are from Maine? We visited a while , They would take me to the airport. Karen went to work. Barbara came by with Pam and Dee and we went shopping. They dropped me back to Karen's.

5:30 Barb & Jessie took me to the airport. At 6:30 I was at the terminal, that I needed. The
Moniter said my flight was on schedule. There was a big snow storm so there was a lot of flights delayed and a lot of people hanging around. Well , I did get delayed. At 9pm I called Cheryl to tell her I was boarding the plane so they would know when to leave to pick me up.

When I arrived I called Cheryl, I said I would call when I got luggage and tell her which spot I would be waiting. When I called they were just getting to the area so I went outside and about 2 minutes they were there. Good timing. The weather was so bad it took them more time to get to the airport.

We got the their home after 1 o/c but 2 o/c Orlando time. That made a long day. Usually they can make the round trip in about 2 1/2 hours this trip took 5 hours.

I'm here and it's about 3 degrees. I haven't been in cold weather in a long time. Oh well, It's so good to be with the family so I guess I can survive this.

We went to Chruch Sunday morning, the Church children did the service, cute. You know how much fun it is to see little ones perform. In the evening another service with the pagent and a lot of singing. Great True Christmas spirit a wonderful message.

I leave here Jan. 5 for Sambassador meeting in Ca, so I don't know if I will have another Blog. I may write when I leave.

Well, that's the new adventure. Don't you wonder how I got around this year alone?

If I had left in the am, I wouldn't have met the great people, Barbara, Jessie, Pam or Dee. When I called Barb and told her the temperture here, She said if they had know that they wouldn't have let me come. Isn't that sweet. Nice people

You have to make the best of what happens.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a wonderful, happy and healthy New year.

Love you all and again thank you so much for all the prayers, love and encouragement this year, It's been a great year
