My week in Jacksonville

HI everyone it's Thursday,18, 2007. I thought this would be a quiet and boring week. I have lots to tell you but before I do I have a confession to make.

My confession is I feared the high bridges into Jacksonville. I thought about these as I was planning my trip but I would make myself put it to the back of my mind. As I got closer to Jacksonville and could see the bridge, looking like a gigantic ship, ahead I got the terrible feeling. I started talking to myself. "Just what do you think you can do?" " You have to do this. " I talked to Ira and my mother asking them for help. I took deep breath held it count of ten , exhaled on a count of ten . I repeated this as I drove into the sky. I seemed like I drove and breathed forever, finally I was headed down. I yelled " Thanks Ira & Mom". I DID IT!. What a great feeling.

Well this week was full of wonderful surprises. I told you that Sunday, I went to Dinner at the Squires. It was a fun evening but I got lost on the way back home, it the dark. New roads , Oh well par for the course. I finally got home. When I went back Tuesday for a spaghetti feed put on by the Demp's I asked for new direction that would make it easier for me to get back home. Another fun evening with Al/ Lucille, Mike/Sue, Ron/Pat and Al's daughter Alma/ Murray, I made it home OK.

Wednesday, I washed 1/2 of the rig ( Boy, this is big). Ira was always proud of his clean rig, so I have to have it clean to go to the MS. Samboree. At Noon the gang showed up to take me to lunch. We went to St. Augustine, A wonderful old fun historical town. We went to the Columbia restaurant for their favorite bean soup and Salad. We walked the town, looked in some of the stores, laughted at some of the clothes . Who wears those? Should this be my new style?
It took us a lot longer to get home. Al was in the lead car and decided to give us a tour of the big expensive home area, WOW. What homes we saw.

Thursday, I washed the other half of rig and the van. At Noon, friends Carol & George Day from Viriginia stopped to visit and take me to lunch. Our favorite place "Olive Garden". I found out George's friend call him Mr. U Turn. George knew where Olive Garden was, but he took us a long sight seeing tour to get there. I didn't keep track of the U Turns, but we had lots of laughs getting there. We had the favorite Soup/ Salad and garlic bread. Carol and I ordered a dessert, we haven't had some sweet in so long. Carol ,who knows how to share , split her dessert and I split mine . It was so good and sharing it wasn't too much and sharing has no calories. Eating late and the dessert , we won't need to eat tonight. What a fun, laughting time we shared. Great Friends.
I'm so Blessed with the friends I have and who are looking out for me.
Friday I will go shopping , Saturday I will get things ready to leave Sunday for Mississippi.
I will write when I get to Mississippi( probably Monday, it will take me a day and a half )and let you know how thing went and that I'm safe.
Thanks for caring. Hugs R
