Fryeburg to Rangeley,Me

Friday,19,2008
Hi, I'm still in Fryeburg but I had a fun trip to Rangeley. A male friend, from my home town, called and invited me to go Kayaking with him and another couple. I met him in Randolph, Thursday and we came back Friday.

Kayaking was so much fun, It was on a river with a few rapids. I got caught up on the small rock in the middle . I was the third so Iwas followed and had guidance for behind. I was told which way to head and at one time after getting off the rocks, "Rosemary turn your paddles around".
They were so great and patient with me. We had a fire and roasted hotdogs. We sat out until it got foggy and cold. We looked for moose at night. This is something You just do in Maine, You go Moosing. The next day we went looking for moose, but saw two buck and a doe with two baby fawn. I took lots of pictures but they were faster than I was, so most of the pictures are scenery. Where's the Deer? Was there really one? I can only prove it on one picture. Oh well, more to learn.

The scenery was magnificent, I wish you could see the sites, the mountains and lakes . You wouldn't believe the beauty and pictures don't do it justice.

We talked to hikers from CO. they've been hiking the Appalachian trail since May. They said they have loved Maine and never saw anything more beautiful. How we take things for guaranteed until someone brings it to our attention.

These few day were very good for me. He lost his wife in Nov. so we had a lot to talk about. Both of us new to the game and shy. He made it easy and comfortable and it makes me realize there are some nice guys out there, who want to be friends and sometimes need a person to make a couple.

He left for a week fishing trip with his son-in-law. Fishing the Allagash and sleeping in a sleeping bag out in the wilds. He is truly an outdoor active guy.

I'm leaving Maine next Friday, so next year I may get a chance to be with him again. He told me about bicycling, hiking trails, fishing and things he would like to show me. I have lots of energy but I've never done these things so not sure I could keep up with him.

I'm still at Prudy's, I went to get Martha. We three couples did lots together so it great for the three of us to have a few days together.
You need to take time for your friends.

Another of our Friends, PAT is married. She got married Sept,17. to Sherman Heaton from Fl. He has a motor home and a home in Fl. She still has the home in Ga. They are just right for each other and I'm thrilled she has found her special guys. I'm thrilled for Sherman, he has his special gal. They both had a big lose in their lives now the hole is filled. Bless you both.

I'm meeting Carol & George Day for VA tomorrow for lunch. It will be so great seeing them.

This is what is so much fun. My friends keeping track of me and when they are in the area I'm in, we meet. As I've said may times I'm so Blessed by you all.

Well, I guess that's the news for this week.

Love you & Lots of Hugs. Rosemary
