Wow, What a trip, I left Jacksonville Sunday without my van. It's having some electrical challenges so Jack said while I was gone he would take it to the dealers. So nice to have caring friends. Thanks Jack.
I had a good traveling day, dark and overcast so I got real tired and came off the road around 4 after 331 miles. I ate at Cracker Barrel and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel , my first without Ira.
Today was a hard day it rained hard most of the way. I traveled 269 miles today. I did another bridge not so high, a little scary, but long and lots of cement barriers and cones. A little tight, then a +5mile road over the swamp (I guess) and right into a tunnel. That was a surprise but what can you do? It's there, so in you go and you know what? I came out the other side, in one peace. I was nervous because, I remember sometime we have not been allowed in tunnels with propane, Oh well, I didn't see a sign. I just followed the traffic. Course I was the only motor home.
I met a friend for lunch, it was a good brake for the day.
When I arrived at Columbia Ms. I was greeted at the gate and lead to my site. Oh MY!
Terry & Betty Minger TN. State Directors and Don & Linda Lane KY. State Directors were here with a space between them, for me.
It is raining so hard you can't believe it. I got out and said, " I don't think I can park it there". I remember Ira tellimg me how hard it was to back in on the blind side. " Can you get help?" He said help was on the way.
Two men came. One was going to back it in for me but when he got in the seat he didn't look comfortable and I became even more nervous. I said , "No, I need to learn this. Let me try".
One man was on the driver side back, motioning me in and this man stood in the open door watching and directing me. With the wonderful direction from both of them, I took it slow and back right in on the first try. When I got out out of the rig, these three guys had great big smiles and said great job and on the first try. Needless to say I got lots of hugs too. My State Director friends were watching, of course, I was going in between them. I wonder what they thought?
They were proud too. We stood there talking in the rain.
I can't explain the thrill, feeling of accomplishment and pride, I felt. I just hope some of you gals, who aren't driving, will start. I have done things in my life, I've been proud of but, this seems so different. Do it for YOU.
When I got in the rig I said "Ya, Ira aren't you proud?" You won't believe, the map light over the drivers seat started to blinking. I said"OK", but the light wouldn't, stop blinking. The keyless button I have to open the bays, to get electrical, wouldn't work. So we are standing in the rain trying to get me hooked up to electricity. Good thing this isn't Maine, it's a warm rain. I said I guess we are taking showers together.
I called Monaco, Rig Manufacturer help line, to see what might be wrong. Jessie told me to check a few things which I will tomorrow, when it isn't raining I hope, and I'm sure some of the guys will be back to check it out. I told him I would call tomorrow if we didn't solve the problem.
It doesn't make sense to me, I'm having all these electrical challenges. I always told Ira I couldn't be near electrical or electronics I sent them into a spin. I guess I'm right.
All in all, it was a great day. The rewards are going into the hall and my friend coming up one by one to hug, talk, cry and tell me they care and are still praying for me and didn't I know I belonged to them. How can you beat that kind of love. I am so blessed. Thanks you God.
Again, I have to say, if you weren't there praying for me and giving me so much encouragement, I don't know, I know it sure helps.
Thanks for tuning in. Talk later, Hugs Rosemary
